MWBL Semi Final Result
A week after clinching our first ever MWBL A Grade minor premiership our 1sts took to the fully synthetic fields at La Trobe Primary school for the Semi Final. Despite a rousing victory last time out and coach Daniel McGrath coming off a lights out performance our supporters hopes were high but unfortunately those hopes were dashed this time out. Some timely hits just out of reach did some early damage and we never really got firing with the bat despite pulling the score back to 3-1 mid way through the contest.
Still, winning a minor premiership has it's advantages and we get to go again next week at the same venue. It promises to be a huge day for the club with the A Reserve team playing in the curtain raiser with a chance to win our first Premiership at the top level. They will take on Melbourne Uni who dashed GMBC's A Reserve hopes with a 5 run last to come from behind and win.
The 1sts will play North Balwyn in a Round 18 rematch.
