Doncaster Appoints Winter Season Coach

Doncaster Baseball Club is excited to announce that Brendan McDonald has been appointed as the Winter Season Coach for 2015.

Brendan started T-ball at Doncaster when he was around seven and has played every summer season since (he’s 27 now), except for the years he was at college. This past summer, he hit .306 in the Doncaster firsts, whilst playing primarily in left field.

Brendan spent four years playing college baseball in the US. From 2005-07 he was at Cochise College in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (Division I). In Brendan’s sophomore year, the Apaches went 43-18 and were at one point as high as No.2 in the national junior college rankings.

From there Brendan went to Southern Arkansas University (Division II) from 2007-09. In his senior year, the Muleriders went 52-11 on their way to winning the Gulf South Conference championship and hosting the regional tournament for the first time in school history. The team was ranked No.1 in the nation for 16 consecutive weeks. Brendan was selected First Team All-Conference as a relief pitcher after finishing the season with 2.53 ERA, a .137 opposition batting average and an 11.39 K/9 ratio.

Brendan played winter juniors at Doncaster every chance he could and he’s played winter seniors at several clubs, before playing the past two seasons at LaTrobe.

Brendan is excited about his appointment and both he and the club are looking forward to the winter season.
